Training

All our trainers are veteran eXist-db practitioners. Each of our trainers know eXist-db and XML information architecture inside and out. This coupled with our approach to always create a custom syllabus for your organisation, ensures a fluent transfer of the knowledge and skills required for your project.

Training topics can range from the fundamentals of document based information structures or getting started with querying and data transformation, right up to the specifics of eXist-db's design and onto XQuery and Java code tuning or performance optimisation. Of course some of these topics take longer to cover than others and can depend on pre-requisite knowlegde or prior training sessions.

Equipment

Most training courses will involve a series of practical exercises. Our experience shows that attendees often benefit from using their own laptop* computers, as this enables them to work in a familiar environment, and also any artefacts produced on the day then remain with the attendee after the course. However, all attendee laptops must have Oracle JDK 6 installed, and have the facility for us to install additional applications such as eXist-db.

If you do not have a laptop, or it cannot be used for this purpose, then we can arrange to provide equipment at an additional cost. Please contact us for further details.

* We support attendees using Linux, Mac OS X, Windows or OpenIndiana Operating Systems.
